Current Volunteer Opportunities

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Push Past Past Pain Support Group, ensuring efficient program execution, organizational growth, and strategic development. The COO will work closely with the leadership team to manage internal processes, develop operational strategies, and enhance the overall effectiveness of the organization. Key Responsibilities: -Operational Leadership & Strategy -Develop and implement operational plans that align with the organization's mission and strategic goals. -Oversee daily activities, ensuring smooth and efficient program execution. -Identify and address operational challenges, optimizing workflow and resource allocation. -Program Management & Development -Supervise and support program coordinators, facilitators, and team members. -Ensure that all support group sessions, workshops, and events are executed effectively. -Monitor program effectiveness, collect feedback, and make improvements. Team Leadership & Development -Lead and manage staff and volunteers, fostering a culture of collaboration and growth. -Implement professional development and training programs for team members. -Ensure clear communication and coordination between departments. Financial & Resource Management -Work with the CFO to manage budgets, optimize resources, and ensure financial sustainability. -Oversee operational costs and ensure funds are allocated effectively. -Assist with securing grants and funding opportunities to support organizational growth. Compliance & Risk Management -Ensure compliance with nonprofit regulations, policies, and ethical standards. -Implement risk management strategies to protect the organization and its members. -Maintain policies and procedures that align with best practices for nonprofit management. Community & Stakeholder Engagement -Strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and sponsors. -Work closely with the Outreach Coordinator to expand the organization’s reach. -Represent the organization at events, conferences, and public engagements. Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). Minimum of 3-5 years of leadership experience in nonprofit operations or program management. Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills. This role ensures effective financial planning, budgeting, and compliance with all nonprofit financial regulations. The CFO will work closely with the leadership team to secure funding, oversee financial reporting, and support strategic growth. Key Responsibilities: Financial Planning & Management -Develop and implement financial strategies to support the organization’s mission. -Prepare and oversee the annual budget, ensuring financial stability and sustainability. -Monitor financial performance and provide regular reports to the leadership team and board. Fundraising & Grant Management -Identify and secure funding opportunities, including grants, sponsorships, and donor contributions. -Ensure compliance with grant requirements and track fund allocations. -Work with the Outreach Coordinator to build relationships with potential donors and sponsors. Accounting & Compliance -Oversee financial transactions, bookkeeping, and record-keeping. -Ensure compliance with nonprofit financial regulations, tax requirements, and audits. Implement financial controls and policies to prevent mismanagement of funds. Strategic Leadership -Advise the leadership team on financial decision-making. -Develop long-term financial plans to ensure organizationa-l growth and impact. -Evaluate risks and opportunities related to financial operations. The Organizational Executive Assistant will support the administrative and operational functions of the Push Past Past Pain Support Group. This role involves managing schedules, coordinating virtual events, and ensuring smooth organizational communication. The Executive Assistant will work closely with the CEO to facilitate the seamless operation of the support group and related activities. Key Responsibilities: - Manage and organize the calendar of the director, scheduling meetings, and virtual events. - Coordinate and prepare materials for virtual support group sessions, including sending reminders and ensuring participants have the necessary information. - Maintain and update the organization's database of resources, directories, and contacts. - Handle email correspondence, filtering inquiries, and directing them to the appropriate team members. - Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and other documents as needed. - Support the onboarding process for new volunteers and facilitators. - Ensure the confidentiality and security of sensitive information related to participants and the organization. While this is a non-governing role, Advisory Board Members play a vital part in shaping the organization's direction and expanding its reach. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Guidance & Expertise Offer insights and recommendations on program development, outreach strategies, and organizational growth. Provide guidance on best practices in mental health support, nonprofit management, fundraising, and community engagement. Support leadership in setting and achieving long-term goals. The coordinator will develop wellness initiatives, organize self-care activities, and implement strategies to enhance team morale and resilience. Key Responsibilities: Wellness & Self-Care Initiatives Design and implement wellness programs that promote self-care and mental well-being among team members. Organize activities such as mindfulness sessions, stress-relief workshops, and team check-ins. Encourage a culture of wellness by sharing mental health resources and self-care tips. Team Support & Engagement Provide emotional support to team members, helping to identify and address signs of stress or burnout. Facilitate peer support circles or reflection spaces for team members to share experiences and decompress. Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that encourages work-life balance. The Grant Writer will be responsible for researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to secure funding for Push Past Past Pain Support Group. This role involves identifying grant opportunities, developing compelling proposals, and managing the grant application process from start to finish. 4P Internship Program

Push Past Past Pain Support Group is dedicated to supporting women of color who have experienced trauma. Through virtual support groups, wellness initiatives, and empowerment programs, we create a safe space for healing, resilience, and transformation. Our mission is to foster mental wellness, self-care, and community-building, ensuring that women feel seen, heard, and supported.

📍 Remote | Semester-Long | Flexible Hours

We proudly announce that our internship program is now open to sophomore, junior, and senior undergraduate students who are passionate about nonprofit work, community engagement, and mental health advocacy. This semester-long, remote internship offers hands-on experience in a diverse and inclusive work environment, providing valuable skills in nonprofit management, digital marketing, philanthropy, and community outreach.

Intern Requirements:

  • Sophomore, Junior, or Senior Undergraduate Student
